Outsourced Financial Management

Backyard Innovation Awards

Strategon client Voztec (www.voztec.com) has been shortlisted in The Backyard Innovations Category of the Australian Innovation Awards. These awards were open to both individuals and teams in a range of professional categories and one general public category. A panel of eminent judges short-listed five entries in each professional category as finalists to be featured in a dedicated section for The Australian Innovation Challenge published in The Weekend Australian, and online. The Backyard Innovation category covers inventions by the general public that are not yet on the market but are at an advanced stage, with a prototype. It includes inventions with the potential to make a difference to our lifestyles, environment, work and play, ranging from better domestic appliances to clever agricultural or construction technology. Alliance with Victorian TAFE Development Centre brings positive feedback

Strategon has formed a relationship with this organisation, which supports the development of the Vocational Education sector workforce in both public and private Registered Training Organisations in Victoria, to deliver a range of programs for educators and senior managers in the sector. The programs are part of Strategon’s suite of Building Successful Enterprise Partnerships Programs for the VET sector, which have run successfully in SA, NSW, Queensland and now Victoria, over the past six years.

The programs can be conducted in house for a Registered Training Organisation or as part of TDC’s public programs. Successful conduct of the Building Sustainable Partnerships with Industry and Creating an Entrepreneurial Culture programs in public mode in Melbourne and in house for Sunraysia TAFE in Mildura in 2011, has led to Strategon being asked to expand its offerings in the TDC Calendar for 2012.

Facilitator, Wendy Taylor, Strategon’s Principal Consultant in Workforce Development, says ...” the in house version offers an Institute the opportunity to build a common platform of understanding of the changes needed in a contestable market, across business development, educators and administration and student support services staff. This allows the RTO to move forward on challenging business goals with some critical mass of committed staff.” Response from participants, to the in house version has been particularly positive. Similarly, the senior managers and business development personnel who attended the Entrepreneurial Culture program as a group from an Institute, benefitted strongly from joint work on development of their Institute’s change agenda.
